Mt Ruapehu Ski Trip - Friday 31st August
This Friday we are booked in for our ski experience visit to Mt Ruapehu, weather permitting. The weather is looking o.k but the final call will be made tomorrow afternoon and the postponement date will be next Friday, the 7th of September. A text will be send to all parents once the decision is made tomorrow. If the ski trip is postponed, it will be school as usual.
Students from Kiwitea School will be joining us for the day.
We need to be on the mountain between 7.30 - 7.45. We therefore will need to meet at Ohakune by 7.00 - 7.15 at the Information Centre which is on the left hand side on the Main Street as you enter the Ohakune township.
I would recommend a departure time from Apiti by 5.15 - 5.30a.m (after having a substantial breakfast), as the trip well take 1 hour 40 minutes.
Lesson 1 is booked in for 9 - 10.50, lunch will be from 11 - 11.30, lesson 2 is booked for 11.30 - 1.30 and from then on it will be free skiing. Hopefully if the weather is good, we will be able to ski all day until the mountain closes at 4.00pm, so please don't expect your child/ren to arrive home until late evening. Students will need to take a good packed lunch, plenty to drink, a beanie, sunblock and good wet weather gear, wear plenty of warm clothing and gumboots and take at least 1 change of warm clothes to put on if they get wet and cold. Gumboots need to be worn from the car park up to where the ski gear is picked up from.
Thank you to those parents who have offered to take transport to and from Mt Ruapehu.

MANNING : Abbey, Connor, Ava and Aimee.
PATTERSON : Bentley.
RIDD : Jake.
If there are any changes to the above arrangements, please ring the school as soon as possible.
Parents of children travelling in other vehicles, please arrange pick up time and place with the driver of the vehicle a.s.a.p.
