2017.09.25 Notice to Parents

Kimbolton School Concert Dress Rehearsal - Tuesday 26th September
Tomorrow the whole school will travel out to the Kimbolton Hall for the Kimbolton School concert 'Alice in Wonderland' dress rehearsal.  The students will have an early lunch, we will then need to leave by 12.00 as the concert starts at 12.30 sharp.  We will return in time for the bus run.
Thank you to those who have offered transport, I have allocated children to the following vehicles:-
BUS : Genny, Pam, Fisher, Phinece, Sarah, Johnny, Summer, Aimee, Bently, Abbey, Josie, Katie and Bentley.
Mrs CUMING : Ava, Savannah, Renee and Autumn.
KNIGHT : Owen, Saxon and Kealee.


Planters
These will be planted up this week before the school holidays and then the Planter will not be able to be added to from then on.  Students may bring plants from home if required.
Photo’s
The student’s animal theme photo needs to be sent to school before the end of this term please either by email, memory card, text etc.  Thanks to those who have already done so.
Assembly
A reminder that we have our final assembly for term 3, this Thursday the 28th of September, starting at 2.00pm in the senior room, all welcome.
End of Term 3
A reminder also, that school will finish at 2.45 this Friday, the 29th of September and will re-start on Monday the 16th of October.


Lamb and Calf Day - Thursday the 19th October
Lamb and Calf Day provides a great opportunity for our school to showcase student learning and celebrate success. This open day is a meaningful opportunity to present work from many areas of the curriculum, in a variety of formats.
Date - Thursday 19th October 2017
This day consists of three parts : Indoor section in the morning, Outdoor section in the afternoon and Whanau Group section.  
Programme
Students arrive at school, at the normal time, with required items for the indoor exhibits to be completed independently in the morning - these will be decided on this week.

9.00 - 10.15   : Students complete Learning Tasks (Junior/Intermediate/Senior).
10.30 - 11.00 : Morning Tea.
11.00 - 12.00 : Judging of Indoor Individual Exhibits.  
                       Students complete Whanau Group Learning Tasks.
12.00 - 1.00   : Shared Lunch for Judges, families and visitors.
Calves / Lambs to arrive before 12.45.  Please note : Lambs are not to be washed for this event.
1.00   :  Judging of Lambs commences (Junior/Intermediate/Senior/Pre-school).
         :  Judging of Calves commences (Senior/Junior).
The indoor exhibits will be open for viewing after judging.
The Whanau Projects can be viewed at any time through-out the day.
This will be followed by Prize-giving and afternoon Tea.   
We welcome families, friends, neighbours and all community members to our school for this day from 12 noon. The day will run wet or fine.
Please return all cleaned trophies won at last year’s Lamb and Calf Day a.s.a.p.  
Grocery Raffle
We are again running a grocery raffle on the day, so could we ask each family to please provide about 3 non-perishable items to contribute to this raffle.  These items can be dropped into the school office anytime up to Thursday the 19th of October.  Thank you!!
Shared Lunch / Afternoon Tea
ASSA organises the shared lunch for the day which may include meat, salad or vegie dishes e.g quiche, bacon and egg pies / sausage rolls etc.  Please expect a phone call / email regarding this in the near future.  

Also, could all families please bring along a plate for afternoon tea.
