Te Manawa.
Here are some stories from the Te Manawa visit. Check the students wikis for more stories about their learning and photos.
At the Museum my favourite thing was the horse because it had cool colours and it looked real. We saw an old tractor that had pointy wheels. But they were metal. - By Tayler.
My favourite thing at the museum was the waka because it was old and wooden. At the top and the bottom of the waka, it was a little bit pointy and sharp. We were not allowed to touch it because there was some tape around it. But some people did touch it. We learnt that the first seven waka came to New Zealand with Maori people. Then the white people came to New Zealand, there were people from lots of different countries. We even saw two black dinosaur bones. We learnt how to do the washing in the olden days because they did not have washing machines in the olden days.- By Katie.
At the museum we saw a saw for cutting trees down. We saw some old stuff. Emily came and I played with her, we learnt how to wash the stuff in the olden days. We learnt how to listen, we had to bring our lunch. We were not allowed to talk or move in the olden days class. We had to line up boys in one line and girls in the other. Savannah got the strap because she did messy work and the lady called one of my bestie a boy, but she was a girl. In the olden days they had to use a board and chalk and a cloth. We played on the playground in the kitchen. - By Abbey.
At Te Manawa I saw a horse too. But it wasn't real. I saw a tractor and the tractor wheels were pointy. They rode the horses to school. I saw a tractor and I played games. - By Ava F.
