Manawatu Interschools Triathlon
This Wednesday we will have 5 students; Huntah, Hannah, Brooke, James and Sarah, competing in this event in Palmerston North. They all won their event at the Oroua Triathlon. We wish them all the best. 
EOTC Camp - March 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th. Mistletoe Bay
Please ask if you need any more info on camp. The students are organising the food and finalising the itinerary. Information re-car/parent groups will be given out at the ASSA meeting this Thursday.
ASSA Meeting - Thursday 12th March
ASSA will be holding a Trail Bike Ride meeting for all ASSA members this Thursday the 12th March starting at 7:30pm at school. We would appreciate a representative from all families please.
Board of Trustee Meeting - 23rd March 
The next BOT meeting will be held on Monday the 23rd of March starting at 7.30pm in the staff room.  All members of the public are welcome to attend. 
31st March - Oroua -Te Kawau Cricket Festival
This term we have been learning cricket skills with Sport Manawatu Coach, Mike. This will culminate with a Cricket Festival. We will be putting together a team of our top 8 players to take part in this event at Kowhai Park. Starting at 9.30am. We would like a coach to volunteer for this team please.
Junior Cup / Sam Strahan Rippa Rugby
Turbos players will be visiting Apiti, on the 26th of March, to train with our students as part of our preparation for the Sam Strahan and Junior Rippa Tournaments in week 1 term 2. Trials for these teams will be held with Kimbolton School on the 23rd of March following technicraft.  We would like to encourage all Year 5 - 8 students and any keen Year 4's to take part in this trial. This will be transport dependent.  A huge thanks to Ben and Adam for offering to coach once again.

Apiti Show
The Apiti Show committee put on another great day, with fabulous weather and great shearing.  Thank you to ASSA members, parents and students who helped out on the day with fundraising activities e.g judges lunches, golf, lolly jar counting etc. 
It was great having Cheltenham and Kiwitea Schools join us with the school work which was on display and judged. Thanks to the judges Pam Strahan and Nikita Lowe. They commented on the high standard of work in all areas.

Working Bee

Oroua Triathlon
It really was a team effort wasn't it. Thanks to everyone who played a part in making it such a success, and especially Nicki for organising it. The Supa Small Blacks and supporting students did a great job in planning and putting together the course. Great certificates and programme Hannah!

Kiwi Kids Homework

To help senior students with planning and fulfilling their homework obligations, we will be marking a section of homework each day. We will also be including in a short kiwi kids slot in class time for students to ask questions and work together to solve problems. I really appreciate your support with helping your child develop time management, a homework habit, thinking and problem solving skills.
Marking schedule (at times this will need to be changed due to other commitments)
Friday before: All Kiwi kids homework handed out.
Monday: Quiz marked and task discussed.
Tuesday: Feature article discussed.
Wednesday: Crossword marked.
Thursday: Sudoku marked.
Friday: Homework task and reading shared and collected.
Your child will need to bring their homework clearfile to school daily.

Training Day for Swimming Sports
Thank you to those parents who transported our students to the Oroua Swimming sports training day on Monday the 2nd of March.

COACH TRAINING OPPORTUNITY
Calling all coaches and potential coaches
We have been offered an opportunity to run a seminar at Kimbolton to improve coaching skills / learn coaching skills. We need at least eight people for this to go ahead.
