Help!! - Missing “Pop-Up” tent bag.
After the very successful Oroua triathlon at Apiti, somehow the Waituna West Pop up tent got packed away into the wrong bag and returned to Waituna West. It should be in a black Coleman bag but ended up in a grey
zipped bag (slightly tight fit) We can’t remember who had the tent next to ours on the day. Can we please see if we can locate this?  If you may have inadvertently ended up with this bag, please return it to school so we can get it back to W.W School.

Camp to Akitio - 14th - 16th March our Education Outside the Classroom

An amazing learning experience for all at Akitio. The purpose of the camp is to enhance opportunities and learning experiences and we definitely did this, with many students trying new challenges especially the rafting, kayaking, swimming in the sea and river, cricket, cooking meals, and cleaning up. Whanau groups were led by the seniors. Thanks to all the adults that supported the students by supplying all the food items and helping the students pack the appropriate named clothing.
The students are busy recounting their learning experiences for the EOTC magazine.
Some writing, written on camp:
“I got one.”  I’m reeling it in but it’s getting harder and harder, then snap - my line snapped! And I yell out because I’m annoyed as I thought I was going to catch the first fish!!  Jock said “You were so close” but he still gives me a high five, so I cast out another line but this time it takes ages and ages, but then I think I have another one.  I reel it in but it’s only some sea weed.  Then unfortunately Jock says let’s go back to camp and then come back later and off we go. -  By Tyler.
It’s getting deeper and deeper, it’s almost passed my mouth.  I’m sinking slowly but I swim back to the shore.  When I got back to shore, I jumped in a kayak.  Sarah and I drifted across the river to the other side.  -  By Phinece.
Yesterday we went to the beach at Akitio and when we got down to the sand, I built a big hut with Aimee and Savannah and it was really fun and once we were done, we went back to the house.  -  By Josie.
Student led conferences
There are a few parents who have not yet had student learning conferences. Please contact the school to make a time. This is where the students set their goals with the teacher and their parents. This is an important time to share learning and set goals for the term and year. .
Lost
One x child’s black hat with white writing on - misplaced while on camp. If you happen to find it in your child’s bag, please return it to school.  We also have 2 x towels and a polar-fleece blanket from camp that we would like claimed.  Any plates or bowls you maybe missing are in the cooking room.

Ice Skating / Te Manawa Visit - 11th April
Tuesday the 11th of April, we will be Ice Skating at Ice World in the Square in Palmerston North from 10 - 11am, we will then visit Te Manawa for the Te Rangi Whenua and the Manawatu Journeys programmes, have lunch at the Esplanade (weather permitting) and then a swim at the Lido. We will need transport for this trip, so please let Mary, Louise or Christine know a.s.a.p if you will be available to help out.

Messages
If you need to get a message to Mary or Louise, a text is great, but if it is an urgent message, a phone call would also be a great idea so you know that the message has definitely been delivered.
