Swimming Lessons – Friday the 16th
Our final swimming lessons will be
this Friday (the 16th) at the Feilding Makino Aquatic Centre. The day is divided into 2 parts.
1. All students
will have water safety lessons. Group 1 and 2 will remain in the learners’ pool
inside. Group 3 and 4 will be in the outside pool and dive pool. On arrival we
will all put our gear where we usually put it for ease.
Could ALL students please bring clothes to use for
this.
Students have learnt from past
experience, that clothes such as ridgelines are not really suitable. Shorts,
trousers, T shirts etc are fine.
2. While at the pools we will
have our end of year celebration. Students plan and pay for this from their
‘Bon Apiti’ student account. They have planned a shared BBQ for lunch, whanau
group challenges, a small treat shop at the Makino Shop and time to enjoy the
outside pools.
Students were hoping for venison,
bacon or sausage sandwiches for lunch. If you would be happy to donate a little
venison, bacon or sausages we would appreciate you sending it to school
tomorrow. Many thanks.
Students will need to come prepared
on Friday with morning tea, water bottle, sunscreen, sunhat and clothes for the
water safety lesson. I would suggest the students who are doing their water
safety outside apply sunscreen in the morning.
You are welcome to stay for the fun
… or make the most of the time to do a little shopping!!
Please note that we will leave
school at the earlier time of 10.45am,
so we don’t have to rush.
The school bus will run at the
normal times on these days.
Please remember that car-seats are
required for some of your students, seat belts must be worn by drivers and all
passengers and remember that the speed limit applies to all drivers.
Thank you to those who have offered
to take transport this Friday and who have offered to take transport on a very
regular basis to swimming, we have appreciated your support very much!

Assembly Reminder – Monday 19th
Just a reminder that our end of
year assembly begins at 1.15 next Monday. Everyone is welcome! Following the
assembly you are invited to stay for afternoon tea and then go over to the
Apiti Tavern for our end of year School and Community Get-Together. Hope to see
you then.
