Lamb and Calf Day
Congratulations to all our students who worked extremely hard on the indoor section displays, for being very innovative and imaginative and to all students who put a lot of effort into raising a lamb or a calf - a real commitment!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who helped out in any way to make this day a successful day, especially to the Indoor Judges :- Julie, Ruth, Bronwyn, Gaylene, Lisa and Sarah and the Outdoor Judges:- Donna, Bruce, Chris, Ross, Pam and Hamish (from Totally Vets).
To Totally Vets who so kindly donated all the Ribbons and Rosettes (as they do every year), this is very much appreciated! Rowena who judged the Whanau Group displays - not an easy task. Pat for writing out all the certificates. June for supplying the yummy scones for the judges morning tea. To all the parents who supplied the great pot luck lunch and the yummy afternoon tea and who helped out in the kitchen and thanks to Maryann for all the behind the scenes organising the lunch as ASSA president. Timmy for manning the BBQ. Ben and Adam for supplying the scrim and calf ring. Adam for mowing the field - it looked good! To all the parents for all the support given to the school for raising a lamb or a calf and of-course our great students and their lovely lambs and calves. This day creates a learning opportunity which encourages children to learn the responsibility of just how to care for a lamb or calf. This really is a community event and it was great to see so many parents, grandparents and community members here supporting the children. AIA Healthy Kids Challenge
This begins today and runs until the 29th of November. Your child has a pedometer and is encouraged to wear it so that they can track their number of steps daily. They are very motivated and are aware that every step is counted! Pedometers will be reset at school every morning. Students are encouraged to wear them Monday - Friday and they will be collected every Friday afternoon. There aren’t any spares so they will need to be looked after.
Our goal is to be as active as possible. Our class average steps will allow us to travel around the world virtually and learn more about it.
Parents are also encouraged to join in. If you would like to know more, visit https://www.heathlykids.kiwi
Community of Learning
Feilding Schools are joining to establish a professional learning group (Community of Learning). This is in the initial stages of development. As part of this School Principals will be visiting all of our Feilding and District Schools, including Apiti School on the 31st of October. We look forward to sharing with other education professionals in our area.

Reminders
- As the weather is beginning to fine up students will need to be prepared with a hat to wear outside.
- Students do not need cellphones at school for learning. We have a great range of learning devices at school. If your child needs to bring a phone to school it is expected to stay in their bag the entire time they are at school, unless they have organised with their teacher to use it for something particular.
Regards, Mary, Nicki, Linda, Pat, Pam, Mary B, Jenni and Christine.
