Ki O Rahi Tournament - Thursday 30th June
This Thursday the 30th of
June, a selected group of Year 5 to Year 8 students will travel down to
Palmerston North to take part in a Ki o Rahi (a traditional Maori sport)
Tournament. Our Year 5 – 8 students will make up one team to compete in 5
games against other Manawatu Schools. Students will need to be at the Te
Hotu Manawa o Rangitaane o Manawatu Marae, 140 – 148 Maxwells Line by 9.00am to
be welcomed on to the Marae. The programme will finish by 3.00pm at which point
students will be dismissed for the day.
This day is a celebration for all
students in a traditional Maori sport that is relevant to the present day.
Students will need to wear their sports
uniform, take their lunch, a drink bottle and wear warm clothing, including a
beanie or sunhat, shoes/boots (no metal sprigs) and a jacket, a mouthguard
is encouraged.
There will be food available to buy and
there will be a free sausage sizzle.

offered to take transport, we appreciate your support. I have allocated students to the following
vehicles:-

Tyler, Serenity and Sarah.
