Apiti School Notice – 02.03.2015
Oroua Group of
Schools Triathlon - Thursday 5th March
This Thursday the 5th, we will have all the Oroua Schools here competing in the Triathlon.
This event is scheduled to start at 10.15 and will be
finished by 2.00pm.
Please be aware
of children in the village on the Oroua Valley Road and along Makoura Road
between these times.
This will involve many children running on the road side along the main road between the Playcentre and the school entrance-way off of the main road.
More importantly, there
will be students on push bikes biking along the main road, having come out of
Makoura Road onto the main road and biking along to the school entrance way (at
the Jensen gateway).
There will be police
officers manning the road on the southern and northern end of the village and
the road will have cones and signs warning of the event for motorists.
If at all possible, could
you please consider planning any trips through the village and along Makoura
road on this day before or after the times stipulated. If this is not
possible, could we ask that traffic be extremely cautious approaching Makoura
Road and the southern and northern end of the village on this day, and be
prepared to wait while the bikes are on the road between the hours mentioned
above. Your understanding and support would be very much appreciated.
