Deep Water Experience

Swimming at the Makino - Deep Water Experience
Tomorrow (Tuesday the 5th) and then Thursday the 7th, the whole school will be travelling into Feilding to the Makino Aquatic Centre to practice our 'Deep Water Experience' continuing our 'Swim for Life' programme.
On both days, we will need to leave here at 9.15 as our first lesson is at 10.00.  We will return in time for the school bus.
Thank you to all those parents who have offered transport on these days.
I have allocated children to the following vehicles for Tuesday the 5th :-
CUMING :- Charlotte, Lauren, Chloe and James.
DIGBY :- Huntah, Tyler, Cole and Dylan.
FIELDER :- Zahn, Tom, Ben and Alex (in) Travis and Derek (home).
McCARROLL :- David, Sarah, Travis and Derek (in).
PRATT :- Brooke, Johnny, Hannah and Logan.

Thursday the 7th
CUMING :- Travis and Derek.
DIGBY :- Huntah, Tyler, Cole and Logan.
FIELDER :- Zahn, Tom, Ben and Alex.
GILLESPIE :- Charlotte, Lauren, Dylan and James.
McCARROLL :- David and Sarah.
VICKERS :- Lacey, Pixel, Chloe and Franklin.
WILLS :- Hannah, Brooke and Johnny.
Parents, please make sure you contact your child's driver for pick up and delivery times.
If any of the above arrangements change, please contact Mary or Nicki as soon as possible.
Students may leave straight from home on both these days, but if you would like them to come to school first for reading then we will leave from school at about 9.15.  Please let Yvonne know if your child will not be on the bus Tuesday, Thursday or Friday of this week.

Community BBQ / Camp Meeting - Tuesday 5th
A reminder that this is to be held tomorrow.  We have had to change the time from 4ish to a later time of 5.30.  Parents, students, community members may start the evening off at 5.30 with a swim or a chat and then the BBQ will commence at 6.00.  BYO meat and liquid refreshments, salads and finger dessert to share.  The camp meeting will then follow at 7.00pm.  Could those parents supplying tents for the Kapiti trip, bring them along tomorrow please so we can see what we have got and what we still need to get.  Hope to see you all here for this occasion.

Oroua Group of Schools Triathlon - Friday 8th March
This event will happen this Friday the 8th in Rangiwahia.  This event is for Year 4 to Year 8 students, our Year 1, 2 and 3 students will remain at school for the day.  The bus will run this day.  Students going to the Triathlon are able to leave straight from home.  It takes about 20 minutes to travel to Rangiwahia.
We will need to be over at Rangiwahia by 9.45 for a pre-race briefing.
Certificates will be presented at approximately 1.45pm, with home time approximately 2.00pm.
The order of events will be run, bike, swim, with a short run from the pool to the finish line.
Individual events will run first with Year 4 students, ending with year 8, followed by a short break (weather dependant) and then move on to the Team events with Year 4 and 5 teams, Year 6 and 7 teams, Year 8 teams.
Remember please, that bike helmets are compulsory and must be strapped on and shoes must be worn on the bike.
It is requested that parents / spectators keep clear of changeover points and the pool.
The Fire Brigade and police will be in attendance.
The school pool is heated, so it is guaranteed to be warm on the day!!  
Please park all vehicles on the domain via Maungawharariki Road, adjacent to the Fire Station.  This will be signposted and parent's co-operation with this is imperative to the children's safety.
There will be a sausage sizzle, drinks, chippies and chocolate bars on sale at the school, tea and coffee available for parents at a small cost.
Parents are urged to make their own transport arrangements, but if you have difficulty and need transport for your child/ren or your bikes, please get in touch with Nicki as soon as possible.
