Lamb and Calf Day 2011

Our 'How it works ' learning is being shared and celebrated in three very worthwhile ways.

  1. Oroua Science Expo last Friday
  2. Manawatu Digi awards
  3. Lamb and Calf Day

All digiaward entries were delivered to Palmerston North on Friday and students really are on a roll with their lamb and calf day learning tasks.
This week we will be beginning to paper mache the bases for our lamps. Your children will need to bring an interestingly lamp stand base eg shaped bottle (plastic juice flagon) to paper mache over. We will be discussing suitable shapes and/or bottles on Monday. You may also have some great ideas to discuss with your children!
Thanks to Sara for donating the lampshades. They are in the office if you would like to see them. The aim is to have thBolde bases covered before the holidays. This give them time to dry and they will be painted in week 1 next term. Students could also use photos or paper as their final layer, which could be sealed with clear polyurethane.

End of Term Assembly
This Friday we will have an 'End of Term Assembly' starting at 2.00p.m. All parents, grandparents, caregivers and members of the community are most welcome to attend.

Beginning of Term 4
School will start for term 4 on Tuesday the 25th of October (not Monday as previously stated), as Monday is Labour Day.
Have a great holiday!
Regards, Mary, Nicki, Pat and Christine.
