Annual Production
A huge thank you to everyone who was involved with this successful production, especially the great actors, Mrs Fielder the producer, Nipper, Taine & Russell for the Whare and the stage, Pat Prince for helping with the costumes and making the super supper with help from Mary Burton, Kate for painting the Whare, Dewe Electrical for organising the lighting, Jessica for helping with the music and set, Dean for helping with the set and a very big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the students and enjoyed the performance. Thanks also to Kiwitea school and the pre-schoolers for attending the matinee session. Parent Evening - 3rd August
On Tuesday the 3rd of August, we would like to invite parents, grandparents and community members to a school information evening. We would like every school and community family to be represented at this evening where wine, cheese and non-alcoholic drinks will be served. We will provide a baby sitter and videos at school to keep your pre-schoolers entertained.
Our special guest for the evening will be Andrew Jamieson talking about the Direction of Education in Todays Learning Environment. As educators, parents and community, we aim to provide opportunities that set our students up to succeed and thrive in the 21st century.
The evening will be held in the senior room starting at 6.00pm.

Toka Tu Moana Performance - 12th August
On Thursday the 12th of August, our students along with all other Oroua School students, will be attending the Toka Tu Moana show and workshops at Kimbolton.
Through dance, song, drama and haka, Toka Tu Moana tells us of an ancient story of how one of N.Z's greatest sons discovered fire and brought it back to mankind.
Toka Tu Moana is the longest running school theatre group in our country.
We will spend the whole day at Kimbolton School. We are planning to have a Hangi so if anyone out there could assist Maia with this, we would really appreciate your help. We will be asking for donations of food for the hangi in the near future. We will require transport to and from this event, so please fill out the attached transport form and return it to school as soon as possible. Parents are most welcome to stay for the day.
Apiti School Speech Competition - 13th August
The topic of speeches for 2010 is an aspect of conservation. All students will be presenting a speech. Could parents please discuss with your child possible ideas and suggestions on writing about this topic.
This topic makes an excellent focus as we work towards presenting and reflecting on our learning for the enviroschools green / gold award.
These speeches will be presented and judged on Friday the 13th of August in the senior room, starting at 1.15pm. The winner of our competition will go on to represent Apiti at the Oroua Speech competition on Wednesday the 18th of August.
Board of Trustee Meeting - 17th August
The next Board of Trustee meeting will be held on Tuesday the 17th of August, starting at 6.00pm. in the staff room. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
Capital E for Children - 3rd September
On Friday the 3rd of September, our senior room students will be travelling to the Massey University College of Education Auditorium for the Capital E 'End Game' performance. We will need to be at the Auditorium by 9.45. We will organise a visit to TeManawa or somewhere else after the show so a whole day will be spent in town. We will need transport to and from this event, so a transport slip will be sent home closer to the time, but please mark this date on your calendar.
