Oroua Group of Schools Triathlon - 29th March 2011 - p.p date Wed 30th

This event is scheduled to take place next Tuesday the 29th of March at the Rangiwahia Domain for Year 4 - 8 students only. Junior room children will remain at school for the day. Parents will need to make their own transport arrangements to and from this event please.
Students need to assemble at the Rangiwahia Domain at 9.45 for a pre race briefing and then the racing starts at 10.00am. Individual events starting with Year 4 up will be held first and then the team events. Please note that some children will do an individual event and will also be in a team event.
Helmets are compulsory and must be strapped on correctly and shoes must be worn during the cycle race. It would be helpful if there was someone to hold bikes for competitors. Each individual / team MUST have a manager to assist with the change overs and to count laps in the pool.
We ask that all other parents / spectators keep clear of change over points and the pool area. This year the finish line is outside the pool area as there is a short run at the end of the swim event to the finish line, so you will be able to see the finish without entering the pool area.
Wet suits are permitted, but the Rangiwahia pool is lovely and warm as it is heated.
Parents, please park all vehicles on the domain via Maungawharariki Road, which is adjacent to the Fire Brigade. This will be sign posted and parents' co-operation with this is imperative to the children's safety.
Children will require their lunch, a drink, sunscreen, a bike, helmet, shoes, togs, goggles and a towel and suitable clothing to run and bike in.
There will be a sausage sizzle, drinks, chippies and chocolate bars for sale and tea and coffee will be available for a small cost.
Children will be dismissed for the day at about 2.00pm after the presentation of certificates.
The school bus will run as normal on this day, but please let Yvonne know if your child is not on the bus either in the morning or in the afternoon - your co-operation is appreciated.
If you require more information, please ring Nicki.
