Congratulations to all our students who performed admirably on the day, with special congratulations to Sam who finished 1st= for the senior boys cup and to Emma who finished 3rd for the senior girls cup.
Overall the Apiti results were extremely successful individually and as a school. Many of our students achieved their goals which they learnt were achievable through hard training, determination and perseverance with many learning new skills.
Thank you to those parents who helped out in any way with the running of these athletics and to all parents who transported and supported all the students through-out the day.
We would like to thank Jo for running the after school athletic programme which gave our students extra training.
Last Friday was athletics. Usually at sport events it is too cold but this time it was the exact opposite, it was a sweltering hot day, almost too hot to do any thing!! I was very unlucky as I had running last so finding enough energy was a challenge. Over all Apiti did really well, Sam got 1st and the cup for the senior boys and I got 3rd for the senior girls!! Our relay teams did really well too! Every one gave it their all!! I was really proud of my achievements. - By Emma.
Yay it’s Friday I said to myself. I was really excited about Athletics! I really enjoyed the throwing part of the day as I found it reasonably easy. At the end of the day I thought that Apiti school did really well!! - By Sam.
